The Lord rebuked the disciples who desired to destroy the Samaritans unbelievers. Jesus was and still is moved only by a deep compassion towards the lost. Destroying them would mean that they will not have the chance to repent. So here we appreciate the Lord’s the Lord’s compassion and unfailing love and focus on the purpose to give the opportunity to save those who are still searching.

Another lesson we take from this scripture is about condemning others. Let us not be swift to condemn others lest the Lord will rebuke us. We are called to love one another and admonish one another in love and with the sole intent to win people to the Lord and even to win our brother or sister in the Lord back and therefore edify the church.
It is all about being Kingdom oriented rather than self oriented. Didn’t Jesus say to first seek his kingdom?…..Mat 6:33
