“Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God.”
At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers and sisters who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus.” (Rev 19:9-10)
“For you shall not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God” (Exodus 34:14)
These scriptures and many others clearly show us that the only worship terminal should be God. There is no other God but HIM and He is the only one worthy to me praised. All those who have been raised in the Catholic religion such as myself, are used to have a patron saint for all things in life, this goes contrary to what the Lord is saying here.
Worship. praise and prayers can only be effective if they directed to God through Jesus Christ (John 14:6)
It is important to note what the angel said to John, ” Don’t do that” in other words do not worship me because I am just a fellow servant of the Lord as you are. Peter himself stated this too in Acts 10:24-25
“The next day Peter started out with them, and some of the believers from Joppa went along. 24 The following day he arrived in Caesarea. Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends. 25 As Peter entered the house, Cornelius met him and fell at his feet in reverence. 26 But Peter made him get up. “Stand up,” he said, “I am only a man myself.”
Everything has to be in line with the Word of God in order to be in God’s will. After reading these scriptures, do you still think that praying and worshipping others is a good practice?
The truth is that it is against God’s will and you would be inviting the wrath of God over you.
“You must worship no other gods, for the LORD, whose very name is Jealous, is a God who is jealous about his relationship with you.” (Exodus 34:14)
It is time to get in line with God’s word, it might go against your current values, tradition and all this has its toll, but once you commit to do God’s true will, you will be able to overcome all the hardships through Christ who gives you strength (Phil 4:13).
