For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has spurned the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” … (Hebrews 10:26-31)

God is love, God is merciful, God is patience and God is slow to anger (Psalm 145:8). Wait a minute! If God is love how can He get angry? This is a concept that has been roaming and influencing people’s minds, giving a sense of false security. God is truly a God of endless love and mercy but He is also righteous and like any righteous judge He will make sure that proper justice will be executed. The truth is that everyone will be held accountable of his/her life. The standard is not set by man but by the Creator Himself. YAHWEH being perfect, cannot but issue a perfect standard and therefore unattainable through our limited means.

The Good news is that God so love the world that He did not leave it at that but HE provided a random for us. That payment which we could not possibly pay. The ransom has been paid through His Son Jesus, the perfect sacrifice, that is why through HIM alone we can be saved. ONE GOD, ONE PLAN OF SALVATION!

Jesus the Saviour but also Jesus the Lord, we hear it many times, however is this statement a fundamental truth in our lives? Lordship means surrender, obedience and reverence and this is what fear of the Lord means. In other words, hating what God hates and loving what God loves.

Just like you would obey your boss at work and operate within his rules, once you accept Jesus as your Lord, you need to live a life which gives Him glory and doing this by obeying His Word. (John 14:15). One of the major differences between your work boss and Jesus is that Jesus is with you 24/7, both when you are in public and also when you are all alone. Therefore the fear of the Lord should be constant in our lives and should trigger us to live a holy life which will honour and give glory to the name of Jesus.

Certainly you would not like that a Judge would overlook and set free a person who raped a child, rightly so that would create a righteous anger within you and you would say that the Judge is corrupt. On the same principle, God is a righteous judge and will not leave any wrong unpunished. A life in Christ is your only way out, but the choice where you would want to spend eternity is totally in your hands.

Ps. By the way, Hell is real, so real that the Bible mentions hell more than heaven itself.
