Reflection from Psalm 1

Blessed is the man who delights so much in obeying God’s word that does not want to have anything to do with what opposes it. The Lord promises protection, deep joy in the heart and prosperity in all we do, having our hearts and mind focused on the Kingdom of the Lord and not self gain. A tree planted by the river. That is unmovable, evergreen, yields fruit in season in other words the best this life can ever offer.

The opposite can be said to all those who prefer the world rather than God. They are tossed to and fro like chaff and they will perish.

Heavenly Father, through this psalm you clearly shows us and warn us what will happen if we completely lay our lives unto your feat and on the other hand if we decide to prefer to reject your word. This same word and this same Psalm which today is helping us to choose the right path will surely be the one which would judge us. You are a righteous judge my God because you are giving us constant warnings in your word. Help us accept it my Father and embrace it as we know it is our only way towards salvation. Convict our heart and help us prioritise right. In Jesus name….Amen
