“And now, may it please you to bless me and my family so that our dynasty may continue forever before you. For when you grant a blessing to your servant, O Sovereign Lord, it is an eternal blessing.”
David (2 Samuel 7:29)

To be blessed means to experience the deep joy in your heart. When receiving a compliment or a gift, we experience that deep blessing, in other words it makes us feel good for a certain amount of time.

As we can appreciate from this scripture, the Lord too gives us blessings. The great news is that the blessings from the Lord are without an expiry date, they are eternal. Being eternal means that they are not influenced by external elements and not moved by emotions or state of mind.

David’s zeal to please the Lord and to seek His council all the time opened the way for Him to receive the amazing blessing of the Lord in his life. It was so strong that it made Him leap and dance and jump infront of the Lord. An explosion of happiness and well being (2 Samuel 6:14).

His attitude should be our life’s benchmarch if we truly want to live in the Lord’s blessings. So let us open our hearts to the Lord and pray for His zeal to invade us and all the rest will be done by the amazing power of our dearest and closest friend the Holy Spirit.

This is the practical side of
chrristianity. That means we have the keys to unlock God’s blessings over our lives. Let’s use them.
