“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night, That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither — whatever they do prospers.” (Psalm 1:1-3)

This morning as I was communicating with the Lord I had the image of a falling leave being tossed to and fro by the wind, with no control whatsoever. It made me think and reflect about how my life was prior knowing Jesus. My motto was living day by day and what comes around comes around…. What I was not realising back then is that like a fallen leave, at first you think that you are free to roam but soon discover that without your main source of life, you will soon wither and die.

The above passage depicts that, should we live a life in submission to God’s will we will be evergreen for eternity, just like that tree planted by the river.

Just think about it. What do you think is true freedom? Do you think it is doing all that passes through your mind in total liberty?   When some one is happy and is looking forward to the future all he or she things about is living a long and healthy life. God did imprint in us the willingness to live and who better can give us an abundant life than the originator of life?

Do not deceive yourself like that fallen leave, true liberty is found in Christ the source of eternal life.
