When He came down from the mountain, large crowds followed Him. Right away a man with a serious skin disease came up and knelt before Him, saying, “Lord, if you are willing, You can make me clean.” Reaching out His hand He touched him, saying, “I am willing, be made clean” (Matthew 8:1-3)

When I try to clean an area of the house or arrange my desk, I have to admit that no matter how hard I try, I can never do it better than my wife.

Today’s scriptures illustrates a thorough cleansing that no man can do. Jesus here cleansed the man with serious skin disease with the intent to clean his deeper impurity that is the cleansing of sin.

Jesus moved with compassion for this begging man told him, “I am willing…” He saw the deep cry within his heart coupled with the faith He had in Him. The good news is that Jesus is moving the same today.

Are you struggling with a sin, which chains are too thick for you to break? Is there anger in your life? A depression, which is leaving you powerless? What ever it is, Jesus today is telling you that He is willing to cleanse you from it.

If the issue is sin, you have to understand that Jesus already set you free the minute you truly accepted Him as your Lord and Saviour. If you are still in bondage, please note that the like a bird in an open cage, you still did not realise that you can fly away from your prison. You have the power given by the Holy Spirit to say yes I am free!

Yes the Lord is willing, are you willing to say no to sin, bondage, depression or any other area, which is not allowing you to fully experience the joy of the Lord in your life?

The chains are broken now it is up to you whether you would like to head to the promise land or return back to Egypt in chains.

If you are willing, just lift up the name of the Lord this morning, glorify Him with all your heart and might. Thank Him for purchasing your freedom through His precious blood, repent and start living a victorious life in Christ, never turn back, just fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith !
