“And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.” (Acts 6:15)
Stephen was brought to trial, the leaders of the Jews gave a false witness about him and his ministry. The natural human reaction would retaliate against such an injustice. This was not the case for Stephen, a man full of the Holy Spirit was focused on the bigger picture, actually he was Focused on His Hope of Glory Jesus Christ. This allowed Stephen to calculate all the persecution, even to the point of death, as temporary. This explains His radiant angel like face.
We too have the same exact possibility to let the Holy Spirit dwell in us with such power. Doing this by regarding everything which is not of God’s kingdom as 2nd priority or better making the Kingdom of God the center of our existence.
Inner peace which is not moved by feeling and circumstances is a sure promise for all those who let thre Holy Spirit dwell in them.
